Intuition - Do you trust it?

I have spent the last 24 hours or so having a terrible feeling of dread that either something is going to happen or that something bad is happening and I don't know about it. I don't really trust my intuition that much as I have a tendency to read too much in to situations. Does anybody else have "feelings" and do you act on them?

I think it depends on how you see intuition working? Bad feelings can sometimes cloud intuition therefore making a situation more difficult to read. It is important to feel clear and not hinder the sensations, so paying attention in a careful way can help.

Try spending time comprending the feeling. Write down how it feels and different actions you could take and how those also feel.

Papillon - do you trust your intuition? Have you ever acted on a hunch?

I do trust my intuition and sometimes I won't do something if I have a bad feeling but I don't know if I am overly sensitive or what having "bad feelings" actually means. I only know that one night my DH went out with some friends on a big birthday bash and I really REALLY didn't want him to go and he didn't really want to either for that matter. It was all planned and paid for though so he went and ended up being hit by a car and I got a phone call in the early hours!! He survived but was quite badly injured. Is this intuition or just a coincidence?

Nowadays I always trust my intuition, if I make a decision which I'm not too sure about sure enough my mind tells me things which talks me out of it...it's known as a sixth sense and some people swear by it, me for one

Kbear - how terrible. Hope your dh has fully recovered.

Lavendar2 - did something happen to make you trsut your intuition or was it just a number of things over the years?

I always trusted my intuition and then out of the blue I was proved so wrong (big life changing event caused by someone I thought I new doing something completely out of character) that I've questioned my intuition ever since.

I still largely believe in my intuition but feel the knowledge that my intuition was very wrong regarding someone I am very close to, constantly undermines my intuition and where I once went with my intuition I find it harder to nowadays and do even more thinking deeply about everything.

Yes he is pretty much okay now thanks - still suffers with pain from time to time but I ignore him - NO I'm joking!! Yeah, he still suffers a bit but he's okay. Could have been much worse.

Anyone got any more stories where intuition has altered your actions?

I do get mother's intuition a lot especially when they are ill - I expect we are all finely tuned to our children's needs and pick up when things aren't quite right.
