Book about historical evidence for events in the bible

Bit of a long shot but a while ago I read an article about a book examining the historical evidence for events in the bible. Think it was by a British academic/ historian and published in last 5-10 years. Would anyone know what it was called by any chance? Thanks!

Hmm, trying to think. Could it be this?

Unbelievable

Could well be this one, by a Scottish scholar, academic work but easy to access and fascinating

This one? Very dense and academic, but worth reading a load of Tom Wright's stuff.

Or this (but American author)

This is a good book that goes into detail about a lot of this stuff:
(Also American author.)

Sorry if not one of those but look at their other books too - plenty out there on the subject :)

Oh could be this? Agnostic scholar/historian and British, Tom Holland? Brilliant book!

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply @Madhairday Smile

I've since managed to remember the book I was thinking - it's called The Bible for Grown-Ups by Simon Loveday - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/1785782630/ref=tmmpapptitle0?ie=UTF8&qid=&sr=

He's described as a literary critic so I was barking up completely the wrong tree when I described the author as a historian!

The books you suggested it might be (based on my terrible description!) all sound really interesting and I hope to read some of them.

Thanks again!

I bought this book some years ago

It is a factual book and very interesting. It talks about historic events, mostly in the old testament. I just wish I lived closer to London so I could go to the British Museum. Now that you've reminded me about the book I'll have to dig it out the bookcase.
