Law of attraction

Do you believe in the law of attraction? The more you think of something, the more you attract? I do absolutely. For example before I got my flat I used to imagine deeply what the interior would be like, how I would decorate it and so on with no limitations and low and behold a few weeks later I found my flat that was exactly how I wanted it! I have also done a few money mantras in the past that have worked. Obviously not to get large sums of money but a few things I have gotten, for example getting letters to say I’m in credit with certain companies and being able to reclaim it back in difficult times. Let me know your thoughts.

No. I think it's a nice idea and a positive mental attitude reaps rewards. But it makes neither logical nor spiritual sense. If the 'universe', or whatever you want to call it, is either neutral or positive and wants to give you good things, how do you explain the many bad things that happen? Spirituality has to be able to explain the good and the bad and the 'law of attraction' can't do that unless it also says bad attracts bad, which is something that it would be extremely hurtful and dangerous to say to someone in a bad situation not of their making. I also think it's dangerous to think we have that level of power. We simply don't.

I agree and I think it's good for that side. If people really think they'll get what they want with positivity then that's a good thing. Positivity can make life easier and more pleasant.

it also says bad attracts bad, which is something that it would be extremely hurtful and dangerous to say

They do though, those who live life by it, the books, the movie on it, the fb pages etc all say negative thoughts bring negative consequences and that bad things happening have been attracted by you. They are very upfront about that. Even if you think about not wanting the bad thing to happen, you are attracting the bad thing. They have never said only good will happen to you by believing and practising LOA.

I don't believe there's a universe out there listening to us, it's all our own subconscious minds.
The power of my subconscious mind has shocked me at times
