Waking up at 3am to spraying/hissing noise

Hey 👋🏻 everyone
Twice in a few weeks I've been woken up to what it sounds like someone is in my bedroom spraying a can of hairspray or like a hissing noise. When I fully wake it stops. I'm not scared, I am Christian and I do believe in spirits etc I looked it up and it says it could be tinnitus?
Not sure I just feel that's not it.
Has everyone experienced this before ? Thanks XX

It's tinnitus. Mine goes really loud if I half-wake up in the night. Once I'm properly awake it settles down again. I hardly notice it at all during the day.

Ah my bad. Sorry I kinda hijacked things lol. Nah I dobt think op has a ghosty either. Ooh pp tinnitus sounds like a good shout though. Would explain the type of sound surely.

I had a strange hissing sound coming and going in my living room.

Turned out the bottle top on my fizzy water didn’t fit right (unopened) and some gas was escaping.

I wish I was buffy, maybe I could have kicked its ass lol.

Eee...let's just say...occult. Not a board. The less i say the better. Creeps me out and I wouldn't want to encourage anyone else to put themselves at risk.

I think I actually got very lucky with it just passing through. Makes me wonder how many of those old cheesy horror tales are actually really based on real life experiences...

I don't have any knowledge regarding the occult but im pretty glad I don't now! Thank you for sharing/explaining though. I shall steer super clear of anything even resembling similarities to the occult forever more!

OP - look up 'exploding head syndrome'. It's a condition whereby people have audio hallucinations as they are going to or waking up from sleep. Could also explain the front door knocking that others on this thread have experienced.

Not the shadow demon though
