Hi guys as you probably all know by now this one really did my head in! I have a problem with the lack of science and it gave me the heebeegeebees (?SP) regarding Christ. It is quasi religous stuff that I cannot stand and puts me right off. Yes i unerstand the nature of other dimensions than the one we are in and think physics is going a long way towards explaining some of this stuff but feel that people disapparating is a little in the realms of fantasy really.

What do you all think? You all really helped me with the 8th which I have to say I still find kind of weird.

What do you imagine another dimension to consist of ?
Where do you think humans could be in 1000 years ?

His idea is that we can evolve into a greater spiritual dimension, but I do understand where u are coming from?

I am not 100% sure wot it would be like to interact with higher dimensions and the only total visual contact I have had they did not speak to me and I did not like their energy.

I do think there may be other worlds/dimensions Paps but feel that they probably exist in precisely the same way as others and that the layers between them can become thin at times. I am not sure that they are any better than here and am not sure if I am so curious that I want to find out.

I am not sure that we are the end point of evolution and that humanity will reamin on the planet. There may be other things that will take our place. I agree with Richard Dawkins that it is tempting to believe that evolution always had us in mind but that this is not the truth we cam into being but at any stage a number of other things could have taken top place.

I do not know where we will be in 1000 years and am not sure that it is of interest to me. Much of me wishes to stay in the here and now at the moment and whilst I enjoy future gazing in terms of a few years from now the rest seems too esoteric IYSWIM.

I think we can recognise that more exists than us here and that we can connect in ways we did not think possible and already to my mind the internet is speeding up interaction but we have to ask ourselves what sort of interaction is it?

In some ways the internet means that we can find out about the whole of human life in all its myriad forms so that if I want to eat my family there will somewhere be people who also have this desire etc. But in some ways this takes away from the mystery of things.

As you know I do not believe in an afterlife and think that when we die we die. However I do think that our bodies become one again with the universe even as ashes and that part of us then forms part of everything else. I am studying consciousness at the moment and think that it is important to realise we have a limit to the nature of our conscious selves. Yet the way the brain works is also fascinating in that a hugs amount of us is working all the time even in sleep to keep us giong monitoring our internal systems and working on replenishing cells and making energy.

It is all very complicated Paps but fascinating to me and I try hard not to close my mind too much as I think the more open we can be the more there is to discover.

That was great to read glitter and made me think of birds. If a bird hears us we sound slow - their frequency is higher than ours. But then you say about cells regenerating etc while we sleep. This in itself shows a range of frequency. Time can have so many paces.

The internet... while we can meet more people with similar interests and connections, the technology side of virtual space is where i think we have the biggest chance to evolve. It needs to get alot more virtual. I mean imagine if we could come here and actually hang out in Litotes and build our idealogies! For me that would tie in with Spiritual actualities better than sitting in my seat having to type this. Humans seem to less exercise and not more because of our environment and fit would be amazing if that could be counteracted through technology.

I am not so sure about the afterlife - wot it is exactly because while energy has a source everything else teeming around it would be to me still diverse like life here. Because I have experienced other forms of being I have to say that I believe that other life forms exist from alien to angel.

Yes I probably agree that we connect with other things but think they are in all likelihood in our heads alone rather than a reality and sometimes we can share them and sometimes not.

I think everyone leaves behibd a trail of energy when they die if they have reached a higher levle of understanding tehn in theory that energy level goes on to another dimension then if not it returns to teh earth to create new life

I suppose I can understand that in relationship to kids gm and perhaps our other relationships which is how I believe we get immortal life only in the memories of those we leave behind.

Mostly though I think our body becomes at one with the universe and we all become like the stars we came from part of the dust whihc binds us into who we are.

I think tht's right GF but also I think there is difference between body adn enerrgy (soul) and whist one returns whence it came the other soars onward altho yes immortality must come from those who hold memories of us

lets hope mine soars gm am feeling like it might plummet today, grumpy but dont know why and eating bad food too which probably doesnt help.

Hi everyone!!! Have been missing the CP convos (after only 4 days - how addicted am I) so going to plunge in again.

Was actually talking to my sister on Friday night (one of those accidental deep discussions) about the afterlife, meaning of life etc. She's a sort of Christian - we were both brought up as Christian and although she doesn't believe a lot of it she can't get out of the mindset. As usual, just discussing it made me realise what I thought a lot better.

In a nutshell I think there is no 'seperate' God entity as in most religions but 'God' is an easy way to explain the basic principle of life. IMO we all have a spiritual self and our human selves is just one small 'journey' that our spiritual selves go on to develop itself. The 'afterlife' will be the next journey that we can't even conceive of in our human selves. There is no God watching over us or judging us, we are collectively all 'God' and depending on whether we improve ourselves or try to destroy ourselves alters what happens when we die - and alters whether we're left with our personal heaven or personal hell or something in between.

Personally I think when you die, because you're not confined by your human self anymore, you're left with just the truth of your own spirituality. For some people who have tried to be true to themselves in life, or managed to get insights into their own spirituality, it won't be much of a shock and will be a natural progression to the next stage of spiritual life. For people who have led 'evil' lives and completely turned their backs on life it'll be a huge shock to be left with just their own soul and that will be 'hell' to them.

Think the stuff about people disappearing is total fantasy now but I think that if we as a race manage to really get a handle on our own spirituality we'll discover that a lot of what we think is fantasy is actually achieveable if we can only get our heads round it.

Sounds like you have been doing a lot of thinking. Still think that when we die we cease to be or become stardust or earth dust whatever. We are held in the genetic blueprint which we have handed on to the next generation and also in the memories of those we have left behind.

I am immortal only because I exist only here and now I have no memory of before I was born adn think I will return to that state.

You may want to eat lots of cakes in the Yurt when the moon is in Taurus

Oh Paps my memory is appalling and I cant remember it at all! Sorry! Never mind. Yes am very hungry tried to fast but got to the psecailist cancer hospital where i was working and had a tuna sandwich and a banana am now really hungry!

Thanks glitter - haven't been anywhere but still!! I agree with you about the genetic blueprint but I think our souls do carry on. And about having no memory of before you were born - not consciously certainly but I think everyone has a 'memory' already with them when they're are born that can't be explained except by saying their soul already existed before they were concieved. IMO thats why babies show different personalities from the moment they are born - not just to do with time/date of birth but to do with ther 'personality' your soul already has.

I also believe that souls can be 'around' without being in a human form, which is where ideas like dead relatives staying with you to support you, spirit guides, mediums etc etc have come from. Not saying every bit of all that is true, think a lot of it is a load of rubbish but there is also a lot of truth buried in it. I feel that because our souls were around before us as humans and will be around after, it makes perfect sense that some people at some times in life will 'tap in' to that - whether its feeling like a deceased loved one is helping you, or feeling that someone from a long time ago is guiding you now or whatever.

Yes, I have been doing a lot of thinking and despite everything I can't shift the feeling that this life isn't all there is to us - our souls are too fantastic just to have started when we were 'born' and end when we die - I think everyone's souls started when the universe started and will end when it ends, and being human is just one of the many 'adventures' our souls go on.

Nothing wrong with different ideas tho glitter - in the end it doesn't actually change much because there's not a lot you can do about the after life whether you belive in it or not!!! Its personal opinion really.

I dont know WK some people sepnd their whole lives stressing about it and preparing! I do have a funeral plan though!

Have to say everyone will have to wear black and I want loads of flowers no giving to charity at all and everyone needs to have really good weep as well. Cheerful people can stay away and I dont want anyone saying she wouldnt have wanted to see you miserable oh no I want to see them WEEP! Maybe all the women in black veils as well. OOH and a hearse with black glitter and a coffin with glitter on as well. Oh this is too exciting!
