Twin flame relationships

I have recently been reading with fascination about 'twin flame relationships'. It just sounds like soul mate relationships but what is the difference?

Has anyone had any experience or know in more detail what this is?

I know i know... I am a sucker for these types of things BlushHmm

I never used to believe in things like this, until I met my current partner. I was married to a man for a long time, I was very unhappy. After our divorce I met my girlfriend and I loved her instantly, even before she had spoken! It almost felt like "Oh there you are, I've been looking for you!"

A twin flame is meant to be your mirror image of yourself. So often their flaws are your own too. Sometimes this can show you areas of yourself that can be worked on/improved. They are not here to make you feel complete like a soul mate would, a twin flame arrives in your life for you to help complete yourself.

Isn't twin flame the one where they aren't actually born into the same life as you? They just get you in the 'in-between'. And they aren't your 'soul mate'.

It always struck me as bullshit tbh. And I'm a pretty open minded sort usually. But when it comes to love, I think there's lots of potential matches out there for everyone. I hate the whole soul mate idea because it implies you should be a perfect match. Life isn't like that. And if we go through life always looking for Mr or ms perfect, we, and many others we could have been happy with, will end up alone.

Not that there's anything wrong with the single life of course. Its just sad when people don't appreciate the good people in their life because they are too busy looking for Mr perfect imaginary being.

This sort of thing is all nonsense. My 'soul mate' raped me.

Many here wont believe but dont let that blur your own judgement. They do not know for certain after all.

I think a twin flame could be a friend or a partner? Someone who mirrors you but also helps you recognise your best and your worst. I do not believe we only have 1 though. There are probably several dramatic energies we have encountered before and gives us a feeling of familiarity.

Going on that logic I trust you're open to the possibility of a flat earth, faked moon landings, anything anyone says they believe.

OP check out Carl Sagan's book A Demon Haunted World. It should help you sharpen up your critical thinking skills.

Ive heard this too but is sounds horrendous. Going out with someone with all the same hang ups as me sounds like a recipe for absolute disaster. I tend to think that opposites attract is better. When one person is quiet- the other draws them out of their shell. When the other person is too sociable and "hyper" the quieter one grounds them and calms them down. They balance each other out.

I thought twin flame just meant someone who is very similar to you in terms of likes and interests and who you are good friends with.

Twin Flame stuff is very dangerous because it describes very accurately the manifestation of an unhealthy/abusive relationship, or sometimes a relationship with a narcissist. It just differs from most in that it mainly describes what feel like the positive parts of such a relationship, with vague reference to "conflict" or other euphemistic terms which don't realistically depict the negatives of an abusive relationship. Because as a whole abusive relationships aren't good for you, it's rare to find anyone speaking about the positives/what feel like positives, particularly early on. The problem is that these things aren't genuine or free - they are characteristic of control/lovebombing and you will pay for it further down the line. These relationships can be very compelling and hard to get out of.

Honestly, if you feel yourself drawn to somebody because they feel like a "twin flame" it's probably a red flag and you should run far, far away.

I agree with this. I think whenever you get two people with an "us against the world" mentality, or intense co-dependency it is always usually unhealthy. The idea that only one other person in the entire world can understand you is simply not true. Studies of attraction have shown that proximity is the main factor in attraction. Its a bit of a coincidence that our "twin flames" just happen to be the ones who work in our office or have the same local pub. I mean, of all the billions of people in the whole world, they just happen to shop at the same branch of Tescos?

Hmm, not overly. However I dont try and discret another's opinion on things I do not know enough about.
Karmatic energy is a bit different (in my opinion) to the fake moom landings. Different seasonings for example.
Since energy does not go away I just believe in the use of it somehow must be people and places we find 'familiar'.

Skyejuly · 20/12/2019 11:10

Discredit

Skyejuly · 20/12/2019 11:10

Oh and reasons *

speakball · 20/12/2019 12:23

What is karmatic energy. Is it just like when you like people and enjoy their company?

Skyejuly · 20/12/2019 12:35

I meant karmic!
