Hello everyone. As some of you know, I am exploring my pagan side. I hope you don't mind me asking, but what are you doing to celebrate Samhain?

I have some stuff to represent ancestors on my alter (bookshelf!) Then some candles and coins. Later we will celebrate the new year on the turn of the wheel and tell stories of stuff we remember/ family stories etc

I will set an extra place setting for my evening meal tonight for our ancestors. Light a candle and incense on both my altar and shrine. Not sure if i will alter my regular shrine to the darker goddesses or create a new one. It has Cerridwen on as one of my regular deities and she is classed as a dark Goddess.

Check out the thread for witches, OP. There are loads of ideas on there and I've been getting some great inspiration for my first Samhain.

I'm going to light a candle on my ancestors altar and I will pull a rune before bed and then place in under my pillow and I will do a small ritual on saturday. I have a habit of planning a small ritual and then end up getting swept up with it all and they last far longer then I had planned. So unless it's a school holiday my sabbats that land on week days are celebrated on the following weekend. Saturday we will bake some cakes and the DC will place 1 on each altar we have and we will normally talk about 1 of the photos on the ancestor altar. If a new photo has been placed there in that year then it's generally them who become the focus. We do talk about love ones who have passed on but this way it helps the DC to understand what samhain means to me. When the DC are in bed I will have a small ritual to honour ancestors and I will normally do something to honour a Goddess I work with.

I have my candles lit, with one under a photo of my mum and one under one of my nan and uncle - funnily enough I've just been making notes in my Book of Shadows about tonight.

Later I will make a toast to my ancestors and let them know I'm proud to have their blood in my veins and that I'll carry on doing my best in life.

Yesterday I went for a walk in nature and enjoyed the colours and atmosphere of this time of year.
