Meditation and spirituality

I once did a ten day silent meditation retreat of meditating 8+ hours a day. It was a form of meditation focused on sensations in the body.

During the week I had a thought that I must have done something really bad in a past life. I have no idea why I would think that -it was a bit frustrating doing the meditation so maybe I was projecting that coupled with intense introspection- but it came to me like it was actual knowledge which I find interesting.

The other thing was sitting outside , seeing a beetle and thinking how I could not possibly hurt it because we are all connected and one and the same life force. Not something I'd really pondered on before.

The final thing was that on the last day I could literally hear a pin drop. The sound of cutlery over breakfast was 'deafening'.

Anyone have any meditation experiences to share?

Oh wow, I would love an experience like that. Im very thoughtful and like quiet but not so good at actually meditating, I usually go to sleep.

A lot of the classes were at 6am so I had that problem re. falling asleep! I did try and fight it but its hard when a blanket is involved.

It was at the Dippa Darma Centre, the retreat is run on a donation, pay what you can afford basis, which is quite amazing really.

Noise aversion isn't uncommon on the journey.
