Religious request in toy library

casawasa · 09/08/2007 15:43

I run our local toy library and one of the health visitors has just asked me if I have any toys for an 8 month old baby who due to her religion cannot play with toys which are yellow or contain any yellow parts.

Can anyone tell me what religion this is? I am totally ignorant

She might however just be testing me to see how good the toy library is

thanks

no yellow toys ?! How strange, never heard of this one

ledodgy · 09/08/2007 15:47

I've never heard of that one either. Are you sure she wasn't pulling your leg?

Kathyis6incheshigh · 09/08/2007 15:48

How bizarre.

lol

I've never heard of that

Maybe there is some culture where yellow is terribly bad luck?

Let us know when you find out!

This sounds like when dh sends out his new engineers to look in the yard for a 'long weight'

how odd yellow????

doggiesayswoof · 09/08/2007 15:55

Oh there is something stirring in my memory about yellow being a sacred colour. A brabch of Buddhism? Lamas wear yellow robes.

casawasa · 09/08/2007 15:56

Mmmm, quite annoyed now. Did suspect she might be pulling my leg but thought perhaps health visitors might have more important issues to discuss!

Harrrumph!

Maybe she has OCD-type issues, prefers to avoid yellow herself, and thinks the religion card will mean she isn't questioned too hard about it.

here

Maybe Hindu or Buddhist thang?
