Did anyone see this today? Does anyone have links or experience with the JFC or JA?

I had a friend at uni who had been in the JA. They seemed very controlling. Her family hadn't had any money of their own, the leader had controlled it all. It seemed very sexist too, she thought women shouldn't lead or even speak in church. But I don't know much about it really, apart from reflecting it seems very cult-like.

Like most organised religions they need money and control to survive. It's just dressed up differently in more mainstream religions, but basically control of flock and extraction of coin is a common theme with all of them.

The only difference between a religion and a cult is time and numbers.

Wish I had seen this at the time - I was burying my head in the sand about then and pretty triggered by it all.

There's a survivors network if you haven't already found it.

It was 100% a cult

Grew up in it
