Anyone had butterflies circling them for ages?

My cynical friends think this is just coincidence with no meaning I’d love to hear any thoughts about my experiences.

About 18 months ago, I was driving back from work feeling really shit (going through divorce). When ds and I got out of the car, a pair of butterflies circles our heads and my car for ages. They left after a long time. I was very moved by this. First thought was that it was linked to DD, who passed away.

On Sunday, DS and I got out of the car and he spotted another one in front of our home. Again, it circled us and landed on our heads. Twice, I put out my hand, and it landed on it. It then rested on a pillar. I put my finger close to it, and it touched it with its leg (see pics). It just didn’t want to leave us. Again, I was very moved. We live in C London and so butterfly sightings aren’t terribly common.

Just wondered if anyone experienced similar.

How lovely, I'd like to think it was from your dd too, I've never known butterflies behave like this and I live out in the country so see loads!

I have and it isn't something I talk about very often. Butterflies have been a "thing" for me which remind me of God. The day I was baptised was a gloriously hot summer day, as I walked home from church with hair wet through I was surrounded by butterflies.

Subsequently I've found them (including the hand crawling behaviour) during particularly special or difficult times, often at grave sites or funerals even at the wrong time of year. Once in early April at a dear friend of mine's funeral, a red admiral came and fluttered round the mourners at the grave side.

The thing is I never notice them at other times, not this type of behaviour at least. Some will say I have cause and effect wrong but for me they are a sign the veil is very thin at that moment.
