Muslim solicitors

Hello all

I am buying a house and I am really impressed with my solicitors who I think are a family ran business who I think are Muslim.

I want to make them a little hamper for their office from me and my family to say thank you for making everything so easy.

Does anyone have any suggestions what I can put in that they will enjoy/can eat.

Obviously I won't put in alcohol but I know there are things they will and won't be able to have but I don't know anyone who follows that religion so I have no one to ask.

I don't want to ask them outright as I want to surprise them and I also don't want to offend if I ask and they are not. They might be Sikh for instance.

Can anyone help.

TIA

Maybe just send flowers if foodstuffs might be tricky?

I might do if I don't get any suggestions. The main person dealing with my purchase is a man though. Rightly or wrongly I don't think he'd want flowers?

Flowers or chocolates will do the trick - it really is the gesture that will make their day. I work for solicitors and they are always happy to receive anything like that. Mind you here it usually is alcohol or flowers.

Make sure first that they are muslims rather then Sikh or Hindus for example. I f they r muslim then no alcohol as you said also make sure any food stuff doesnt have alcohol in the ingredients or things like gelatine. So look for suitable for vegetarians stamp.

I was going to make up a hamper and put in nice tea and coffee and some biscuits and maybe some nice chocolates. That will be ok for any religion won't it?

Avoid foods with egg if they may be Sikh or Hindu as some are "pure vegetarian" they still eat milk.

Shortbread perhaps, non alcoholic fizz (they sell in most supermarkets in cities), some chutneys maybe?

So thoughtful! If Muslim, avoid anything with alcohol and liqueurs, and animal products eg gelatine. Maybe artisan stuff like honey, biscuits, teas, fancy breadsticks. And a card.
