Had a message from my grandad :)

Just been to church with my mum, not been since my grandad passed.

Feeling a bit because we were there for my mum iyswim (first father's day), but happy to have had a message.

He apparently found my look of horror at getting a message amusing I've never had anything before!

All in all, he is happy, what he went through has helped him now, and he is working with my non-believing grandmother to help my future.

(I did end up looking insane as I first thought they meant my living gran as a - I still forget a lot of the time that my other one is gone (I didn't get to go to the funeral and its left things in limbo for me), and b - his wife is a medium so it makes sense that he is talking to her!!)

oooh cool :-) I'd be horrified too if I received a message from someone I knew who'd died, and I believe in spiritualism!

Mum seemed pleased - it was all really positive stuff about my future, she seemed pleased that he was keeping an eye on things.

I think also that one of us heard from him - so that he is that bit closer iyswim. She has had several messages since he's been gone, so it wasn't like the very first one from him iysiwm.

in what way did you get a message

I'm a spiritualist and love it when I see people being comforted by really good mediums.

I'm only developing psychically and clairvoyantly though.

Is there a way to 'learn' clairvoyancy? Or is it something you are born with?

Like Twig, I'm intrigued as to how you receive messages. Is it a voice in your head? And if so is it your voice or the voice of the person giving the message?

Well according to our teachers not everyone can be a medium. I see almost slide shows sometimes and sense things, ie ailments? I'm much better psychically, I think we all have that, it's just we've not needed it over the years. Sometimes I can connect well with spirits but others I'm blank. It takes a lot of time and patience to become one although I'm sure some are just born with it.
I'm sure some experienced medium's are around and they may explain better?

Mine was through a trained medium (its like a church service, but then part way through someone stands up and starts doing mediumship).

I have only once had something of some sort myself (all very vague I know!!).

My gifts seem to lie in healing and empath tendencies.

Just wait until you have someone (thanks mum) ringing you up, demanding you ring your older sister (other end of the country) to find out who is telling porkies over some undisclosed problem! All courtesy of dad pointing out said problem that needs sorting, apparently by me (cheers dad). WTF?!

Dad passed in 1999 but he still likes to keep his finger on the pulse of family life.
