I'm not religious though - I've lit a candle at home for my friend, is that the right thing to do?
Do I tell her? I only want to if it'll bring her comfort

I didn't know her mum but I'm thinking of her

Thank you

I think that's lovely. Hope you're okay

Thats a lovely thing to do
I'd tell her

That is lovely. I think, when we grieve for someone important in our lives, folk pretending it is happening, can be hurtful (and very British, huge generalisation, I know).

I think your friend would be touched that you lit a candle for her mum.

That is really lovely. I hope she appreciates the thought.
