I am going to one soon and am wondering about the timescale and whether to take ds to mass or pick him up after as he wont sit still for two mins and would hate for him to spoil it!

Sunday Mass is generally an hour and then there are all the other bits on top so I reckon maybe an hour and a half for the service itself. There maybe pics and chat outside hte church as well tho.

(unless you get a priest like our old parish priest in which case it'll be 3/4 hour max )

We had my daughter's First Communion a couple of weeks ago and it was an hour and a half. However the Church was really packed so standing room only for friends and relations! Its worth asking how busy its likely to be as not fair on a little one to stand for an hour or so and not be able to see anything either !!

I had dd1 1st communion mass last Saturday and it lasted for an hour tops. Take ds if you think he might be able to last an hour - you could always take him out if he gets a bit squirmy.
It generally depends on the priest too - so check out whether he's a speedy or a slowy
