I am writing an essay on 'The Role and Position of Women in New Religious Movements' and am in ned of a little help about just how influential women are in neo-Paganism (resurgent paganism in a post-Christian society).
Anyway, my reading is a bit confusing as I dont seem to have a book that takes an insider spproach - its all anthropological critiques of the movement etc ..
How important is the role that women play in paganism and Wicca? Are women in charge or is that a myth? WHat role is there for men? What do you see as the main symbology of the feminine in paganism?
I know it is a bit esoteric, but I'd love to put some real pagans into my essay - shake things up a bit at my Evangelical Bible College!! Luckily I have a very laid back lecturer, who loves insider stories!
