I really hope this is OK. My son has a school project to do, it comes in 2 parts, 1 is - "compare the daily life of one religion to your own".

He has chosen Islam so apart from the 5 prayers, is there anything different that you do that a Christian does or doesn't do? I have tried looking online but it doesn't give me much to go on.

Secondly - what do you feel your religion brings to your life?".

If you could help us out, I would appreciate it very much.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Actually, Muslims do eat gelatine, for example, in Halal haribo sweets or other similar chewy sweets you will generally find beef gelatine but of course it is halal, because the animal it came from was killed in a halal way.

Giraffe, what's the deadline for the project?

I can tell you that on a daily basis the main difference is the prayer, the ablution before prayer, and washing after using the loo. Other than that, daily life isn't markedly different. Halal food is so widely available that one doesn't really need to think about it.

ZZZZZ, sin is not considered to have occurred at the moment of thinking about it...otherwise we'd all be in serious trouble! However, there is a concept that 'actions are by their intentions'. This doesn't mean that intending to do a bad thing is the same as actually doing it. It means that doing a bad thing by mistake is not the same as doing it with the intention. It also means that everything you do with a good intention, no matter how small, gets rewarded.

I hope this helps. Giraffe, feel free to PM me if you need to know more.

Zzzz actually if a muslim thinks of doing a sin but then doesnt its actually rewarded.
