Hi all, Larry55's daughter here. I'm really excited to go, and looking forward to DS experiencing Gems for the first time. It's crazy after all the years I've volunteered with kids work at New Wine including Gems that I'm bringing a child myself!

So lovely that you've been serving in kids teams so long now bringing your LO to Gems. It's a very special place! I have such warm memories of my DC in it.
My dd is now 17 and dancing around the house with excitement about NW and Pebbles team. I love that she loves it :)

Obviously. Anything done by a teenager is done ironically 😂 (spoken as someone who works with teenagers)

We had a wonderful time at New Wine although dgc had the sickness bug Wednesday and Thursday and very generously passed it to Dd on Friday night so I had to do the packing and dh came to take down the tent.

I had my back op at 8 this morning and went home at 1 30. They don't keep you in for long. No lifting more than a kilo for 6 weeks and no driving for 4. Dh is going to be very busy

Sorry to hear about the sickness bug though. That's horrible. I injured myself on the Friday evening and have had a very painful shoulder/spine all week. But I had such a lovely experience from it. I couldn't actually sit on the normal chairs in the arena so my friend bagged a sofa and I got talking to this amazing couple on the next sofa and it just felt like a God thing as we shared stories and prayer. I'm often amazed at what God does in situations. Just beautiful.

Larry hope you mend quickly. You too madhairday but I agree that these things are often sent by God.

Not sure about Peterborough. I’d be up for it but think most of our church wouldn’t manage the journey (6hrs+) and half the fun is being with the church gang
