I’ve recently been gifted a deck and would like to learn. Has anyone who has learned got any tips for getting started?

There are loads of online resources. Lots of great you tube videos.
I have worked with Tarot for decades, but even now my favourite way of using them is a single for guidance or when I need to sort something out or a question answered.
My favourite deck is beyond powerful, I don't allow anyone else to touch or see it,I keep it in a velvet bag in an old trunk. It has told some harsh truths over the years.

Best tip is to use your intuition. Get to know the cards and believe in yourself. When I use mine I always seem to find new things I haven't noticed before. Look at the cards and see what feelings/thoughts come to you. You can use the cards with your psychic or you can ask your guides to help you.

Make sure you cleanse the cards before using them, to remove the previous owners energy. You can do this by fanning them out and touching them all. I always say a little prayer beforehand so i feel protected. shuffle the deck while thinking about what you want to know ( if you don't know...just ask if your spirit guides have a message for you). Close the pack, knock three times then pick the first three cards. If any jump out..then use these extra cards too.

Practice. And then practice some more. So it flows better.

What deck did you receive?

My advice would be to hide the guidebook and get to know your cards intuitively. This is how I learnt and it served me really well, especially in terms of developing my intuition, clairvoyancy....etc....

You could start by pulling a card a day or 3 cards for the week (x1 for beginning, x1 for the middle and x1 for end of the week). Write down any impressions that you get from the cards, even if it seems silly. Then at the end of the week look back over your reading and see if anything materialised or makes more sense now.

I often find that images in the card really stand out, colours or any numbers on the card. This means that each card will often take on a different meaning for each person that I read for. Something which continues to amaze me to this day.

Clear your energy and that of the cards with each reading too. xxx
