Summer Solstice

Hi I'm a newish solitary pagan and have so far been confused about exactly when celebrations for the Solstice begin.

Should we be having our Solstice bonfire at sunset on 20th or 21st? That is, on the eve before the Solstice, or on the day itself IYSWIM?

Bright Blessings to all!

I’m going to a solstice event on Thursday evening (but I’m no expert on the particulars of solstices).

Thank you for replying.

Hope you have a lovely time at your event.

It's my birthday on Thursday and as we live by the sea we're hiring a beach chalet and plan to stay as late as we can. There are no bonfires allowed on the beach unfortunately but wanted to have one with the kids for the Solstice, so I was just checking.

Have an amazing birthday Fruitcakes!
Summer solstice 2018 in Northern Hemisphere will be at 11:07 on
Thursday, 21 June.

pressed send too soon, sorry.

Usually, people stay up all night on solstice eve that's tonight and watch the sun rise on solstice morning.

You could light some candles on the beach tonight out of the kids' way and have some battery candles in the beach-hut so it's safer Smile

Aaw thank for the birthday wishes, and for clearing that up!
