Question about Buddhism

Are there any Buddhists on here who can tell me, how do you feel about extreme violence in films and computer games? Would you enjoy watching an 18? Or would you not personally watch it but be happy for your family or friends to while you get on with something else? Or would you feel really uncomfortable knowing that someone you loved enjoyed extreme action/slasher films, or games that include virtually machine gunning others, or running them over?

I'm not a Buddhist but believe in a lot of the Buddhist ideas. So I hope you don't mind me answering still. I don't get involved with what others are watching but try and avoid violent films etc myself. I feel the new virtual reality gaming will cause major negative issues.

A Buddhist would not make a judgement on what others watched. Certainly wouldn't watch those kinds of things.
The individual path to nirvana is all a Buddhist seeks.

Buddhist here. I'm not really into "serious violence" - I occasionally watch films/TV shows that had a bit of violence, but don't go seeking it out. I certainty avoid it in real life, would only resort to violence if absolutely necessary, and then it's a grey area. The main practices of Buddhism are being mindful and trying to have compassion for others.

I'm a Buddhist. We don't judge what others do and we strive to live a good life, for the benefit of all beings. There is nothing to stop us watching violent films we all have freedom of choice. I've just read a book by Mingur Rinpoche one of the great Buddhist teachers of our time and he references watching The Matrix.
