Recommendations please. Books that tell stories of women's ministry. And books / blogs that deal with practical issues (to do with combining ministry with motherhood etc). TIA Smile

Gifted to Lead by Nancy Beach?
Why Not Women by Loren Cunningham?
Not very recent but I found them useful.

Nicola Slee 'Presiding Like a Woman' is a set of essays and something in there might strike a chord.

There aren't

Whoops. There aren't a lot of books and blogs out there. Emma Percy wrote a book on motherhood and ministry 'What Clergy Do, especially when it looks like they are doing nothing' which looks at priesthood through the lens of motherhood. There is a blog parttimepriest.com/ which is very real about the challenges and joys of ordained life and the author has children I think. Otherwise the headline is that the biggest challenges can be about moving children to train and then for curacy and then for each post and then living in the goldfish bowl which is the Vicarage. One of the huge advantages once you are in post is that you control your own diary so that you can down tools and be mummy from school pick up to early evening and then go back into work mode for evening meetings.

Thanks all.
I've been chatting on twitter about this too, but these are new to me, so that's great. I like pickingapplesofgold blog too for the realism stuff.
