Our "kids cupboard" at church is a real mess, hundreds of books in a box, far to many for a child to even choose one. Afew crayons, a bit of paper, all v messy too. I asked the priest if I could sort it out and he said yes, so any ideas? I want to make it a lovely area. It is for young children, as slightly older children go up to liturgy classes during mass. So far I have thought of bright coloured paper, gel pens, glitter crayons and a "box of love" - shiny box for children to post little heart post its, on which they have written a kind thing they have done that week. I will also slim down the books, and get a few jigsaws. Any other ideas?

We have a wooden Noah's ark, and a children's wooden nativity crib (meant for young children), both are VERY popular. We also have a brio style train track, just a small one in a circle.

You could also decorate the walls. There are some stunningly wonderful A4 size posters around, which our church recently purchased, and attached to "poster hangers", related to the bible (eg Jesus as the good shepherd). If you're interested, I could try to find a link...

Or you could get the older children to make a banner, have a Saturday morning workshop. We've also made an altar cloth in this way before (representing the resurrection, and it went on the altar on Easter Sunday).

Yes please, that link would be brilliant. Just got back from town with a "Little People" Noah's ark!
