Choosing my hymns for my wedding.....any good suggestions?

I'd ask the priest if he had any suggestions, otherwise just choose your favourites. We went for Jerusalem on the basis that we thought people who don't attend church usually would remember it from school and enjoy singing it! Also Lord of All Hopefulness.

Factors to consider:

  1. Is there going to be a choir/ soloist or just congregational singing? Some hymn tunes are much harder than others.
  1. How practising are the congregation? Are enough of them regular church goers that you could use a selection of hymns or are you going to have to stick to primary school classics as that's all people will know?
  1. What instrumental accompaniment do you have?
