Quick question for Catholics

Movablefeast · 15/02/2018 16:23

I am Catholic and was at Mass yesterday and received my ashes. It just occurred to me today that anybody would be welcome to come in and receive Ashes wouldn't they? It's obviously not a sacrament. Can you confirm for me?

It’s not a sacrament and anyone can receive. I used to receive ashes when I taught in a RC school.

Are you affronted?

Yes, anyone can receive them.

Anyone can receive them. Happy Lenten fasting!

Affronted? Why? I am confused.

I just have friends who often ask me questions about my faith and I realise I could've invited them along, I think they would be very curious.

That would be totally fine, yes.
