How do you pray

I wondered how exactly different people went about praying. I know some do it the old school way, eyes closed hands together.

As we approach Lent, I thought it would be interesting to see others approaches. How you converse with God etc, whether it be formal or informal.

It was a one line question; I thought I might get a sensible answer rather than a diatribe. Frankly, I can't be @rsed to read it all, and even if I did you appear to be so entranced with this bloodily book that the rational answering of a simple question is beyond you. Peace.

I think our actions throughtout our day are a conversation with the divine. Words are nice though when you want to clarifyvthings. I love singing too though

I'm sorry that you feel I did not answer your question adequately. I thought I did, with breakdown of your question into two distinct sub section (first few sentences).

The rest of the information is to backup what I had said with evidences. Perhaps, with hindsight, maybe too much information but as a Muslim I can't just make something up and provide an answer, that is completely forbidden.

If I don't know then I must say so without giving misleading or wrong answer.

It is always better to remove any unambiguouty.

Peace to all.

GreatNews I think you've been immensely patient!

and MadHairDay I have got so much from your answer, as ever!

I have a few minutes with my coffee in the morning to set me up for the day - they fix my eyes on Jesus though my prayers can be a bit half asleep and not flow they are what I have at the time.

I pray quietly often during the day especially when it all feels a bit much. I've heard them called arrow prayers.

I love having the time to play my guitar, or listen to worship tracks, or journal or even draw. It helps me focus deeply on God and I come away changed. I do a gratitude journal at night too, as the other bookend to my day. I have prayed in tongues, it still happens sometimes - when I can't express something, the Holy Spirit still hears and is at work.

Have you read all the words in those posts? - and you say GreatNews is patient Smile
