Christian prayer thread for winter

Hello all! I just posted a long post on the old thread and realised it's full up, so just going to copy this here to sunshine - will try and do a roundup of other prayers too later. Everyone welcome here!

Just want to reiterate what Oma and Cocoa have said so well, sunshine. It's no wonder church feels like a hostile place and you freeze up. I feel so sad for you that that man did this to you. But Christ isn't the church , the church is supposed to be his body, reaching out hands of love and help and compassion, and sometimes they mess that up. Hugely. Sometimes evil crawls in. But that doesn't mean God's abandoned you. I love that Oma referred to the prodigal son, I was looking at Rembrandt's study of that parable the other day and so struck afresh by the father's absolute joy in his son being home, his grace in embracing him whatever he'd done. Sadly you've had a poor excuse for a father so it must be so difficult to frame God in the language of father for you Flowers but God is the father who loves you beyond your imaginings, who reaches out arms of compassion and forgiveness, who gathers you in and just loves you. Loves you so much, so, so much, without end. You can never do anything that will make God abandon you. Jesus said that he is with us always, even to the end of the age.

I know church is threatening, lovely, but there are a lot of people who would love to help, here on the internet and in real life. It's just a case of reaching out, but I know that must seem impossible right now. I've learned that God is a God of restoration, a God who longs to mend the broken places and devastations in people's lives. I've seen people set free from so much and believe with everything I am that God longs to set you free, too.

I'd love you to find some medical support. I'm so sorry your GP is so rubbish. More and more the case, sadly. I pray you can get in to see someone. Would you also consider some counselling? Like cocoa says, that doesn't mean they would take your DC away, just that they would want to support and help you. Flowers you sound a lovely mum and have done so well to get to this point. I'm glad you are reaching out here. Please take care and know God's love pouring over you by the Holy Spirit. Flowers

dd is having serial collapses again. (waiting hospital intervention)

ds: minecraft is down. this is not good.

Lisette40 · 05/01/2018 16:48

I'm sorry to hear this Bes. And then the Minecraft too.

Dutchoma · 05/01/2018 18:16

I was just wondering how you were getting on. Sorry to hear that it is not good.

Lisette40 · 06/01/2018 13:47

Dutchoma thinking of you at this time around Bob's anniversary. X

BlackeyedSusan · 06/01/2018 14:33

I am trying to tidy/clean today after having an exhasted not able to move day yesterday.

Dutchoma · 06/01/2018 15:04

Thanks Lisette.

How’s dd BES

BlackeyedSusan · 07/01/2018 16:21

Made it to church and she did ok. Dad is worried that she is doing it on purpose and sometimes it seems that way. She fell in his dinner and burnt her face yesterday tho.

Just been wondering who had snow today then realised I had not refreshed the display on the mobile. Blush

Hope the lungs are behaving MHD. How is everyone?

At their dads doing washing. Third load in now. Two already done and back in the car.

Tomorrow I have to see about getting her some help with education. Not looking forward to it. Hate all that process.

Lisette40 · 07/01/2018 18:58

Is your washing machine on the blink Bes? Personally I like batch washing - get it all done and folded.

Good luck with the education meetings tomorrow.

BlackeyedSusan · 07/01/2018 21:02

Washing machine has been broken for forever and there has been too many others things going on to get it fixed.

BlackeyedSusan · 08/01/2018 06:58

also throw in an appointment for me for the dr. [whines]

hip really sore... need stomach meds. running out of the meds the hospital gave me, I forgot to take them for a couple of days and woke in the middle of the night with pain.. propping up to try and stop the heart burn has left my hip sore. (it will probably wear off if I walk.) (hopefully so should the weird pain in my foot too. hip and foot are probably hyper mobility.

Dutchoma · 08/01/2018 12:24

Did you manae to get an appointment? How did you get on at the school?

Lisette40 · 08/01/2018 12:45

Possibly the other pains are due to compensating for the other injury. Good luck today.

All well here. Just starting term.

BlackeyedSusan · 08/01/2018 14:53

sorted my appointment. got prescription. that and a quick top up shp for ds is about all I have managed. dd is asleep. I have been asleep and am waking up with the light of the computer.

Dutchoma · 12/01/2018 12:52

BES and her dd are back in A+E as dd keeps fainting up to 100 times a day. They have been seen by one of the nurses. Everyone is totally perplexed by the state of affairs. Please pray.

IcedCocoa · 12/01/2018 21:12

I am adding my prayers for bes and her DD. That sounds very worrying. I will keep praying.

I am sorry I have not been on the thread for a couple of weeks, a bit difficult here for various reasons. You have all been in my thoughts and prayers.

Praying for Bes and DD. Sad

applesandpears33 · 14/01/2018 16:25

Has anyone heard from BES? I've been thinking about her and her DD after reading DO's post on Friday. I hope the doctors get to the bottom of the problem.

Dutchoma · 14/01/2018 17:59

They were home again last night, having been discharged from A&E without any solutions. Nothing physical has been found and they are thinking in the direction of ‘emotional’ and anxiety. It is all very unsatisfactory as there is no support from anyone.

IcedCocoa · 14/01/2018 21:46

That sounds a bit circular - I am sure fainting up to 100 times a day and being in and out of hospital with no explanation would cause anxiety and emotional responses. It seems a cop out, to be sure. Poor bes and DD, I will pray for some improvement and answersFlowers

Thank you for the update Oma

Prayers for everyone else, may God keep you safe and well.

BlackeyedSusan · 15/01/2018 07:03

good morning.

free use of computer. not for long though as we are off for a hospital clinic appointment, a planned one. different hospital. with a paed. that'll be fun explaining her condition, and avoiding another sojourn in A and E.

Dutchoma · 15/01/2018 07:11

Good morning. Praying blessings on your day.

BlackeyedSusan · 15/01/2018 07:13

oh and they have suggested that her asthma is a similar cause... (ie panic) erm no the tightening comes first and then she gets scared, cos, you know, breathing is quite crucial and not being able to is scary.

Dutchoma · 15/01/2018 08:04

Bit of a vicious circle. But how to get out of it?

BlackeyedSusan · 15/01/2018 12:40

seen a paed this morning and he wants her to go back to school asap on a phased return.. that will be interesting to discuss.
