Rosey83 · 18/08/2017 19:13

Iam currently on my spiritual path, after realising I lacked faith I decided to investigate spirituality/religion which has helped me literally turn my life around. I don't talk much about this with friends as they would not understand so if anyone would like to chat about this please get in touch ! Smile

Hi, I don't following any particular religion but feel spiritual. It's nice to speak to others going through the same, like you say, not so many people in RL to speak to.
When I started my journey I wasn't particularly looking for spirituality but I found it/ it found me. I feel I've always been a pretty open person, open to new ideas/cultures etc. I tried/try not to judge others, people that society might not consider the 'norm' I'm drawn to.
How has your journey been going so far Rosey

Just purely out of interest, why did you feel that you needed to seek a faith?
I'm a very open person and enjoy hearing about what people believe and why. When I realised I lacked faith I panicked, and went looking- if someone had not told me that its ok to just not believe, I would probably still be torturing myself.

SleightOfHand · 19/08/2017 12:30

I think it's an innate need.

ollieplimsoles · 19/08/2017 13:33

I dont think everyone feels a need to seek spirtuality- and I dont like using the word because no two people define it the same D:

SleightOfHand · 19/08/2017 14:08

I agree.
What do you think a better term would be?

ollieplimsoles · 19/08/2017 14:26

Good question! God alone knows :D its one of those subjective things everyone views differently.

ollieplimsoles · 19/08/2017 14:27

Maybe we just don't label it? Maybe we just talk about how certain things make us feel physically?

Rosey83 · 19/08/2017 14:58

Iam getting there, I suppose I lacked faith in myself as I wasn't loved or cared for in my childhood.

I ve realised if I have faith and belief in myself I can do anything and not to worry about what anyone else thinks or does and it really has changed my life. And once you start that momentum great doors open

I don't label or judge anyone also but for the sake of us understanding each other - spiritual means to me getting in touch with our source whatever we believe that to be

Does anyone read any books on this subject?

Ollie Yeah, I'm not that keen on putting a label on it, although this is part of the definition on spiritual: spir·it·u·al
/ˈspiriCH(o͞o)əl/
adjective
1.
of, relating to, or affecting the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things:
So it fits for me.
It's not a physical thing though is it.

SleightOfHand · 19/08/2017 15:47

Sorry you went through that experience when you were a child Rosey

Yes, looking inside oneself answers can be found and I agree, great doors open.

I'm more of a listener than a reader, I'm glad for audio books Smile finished Eckhart Tolle first book, atm it's Alan Watts talks. What books have you been reading?

Rossy10 · 19/08/2017 16:23

Thank you Flowers

I find reading something that improves my mind set every day is very important

Iam currently reading letting go by David Hawkins which is amazing

SleightOfHand · 19/08/2017 16:38

The book sounds great, I've just read the mini review on Amazon.

Do you do any meditating? I've not long started, it's not as easy as I'd imagined but I'm going to stick at it.

Rossy10 · 19/08/2017 17:01

Yes I do !

Meditation requires a lot of practice but well worth it for the benefits Smile

If you like listening- try the Abraham hicks material on you tube.

ollieplimsoles · 19/08/2017 17:09

Have you ever tried NLP op?

Rossy10 · 19/08/2017 17:13

No idea what that is sorry

MiracleB · 19/08/2017 17:24

Iv been a Christian all my life, I lost my beloved mum in June very unexpectedly, I knew in my heart that if my mum could show me a sign, she would, for over 4 weeks I felt nothing, my response was to question "God" and all things spiritual, however on the 3rd August 2017 I found out I was pregnant (had previously lost twins to MC) told I couldn't have children, and on the 15th at my 12 week scan, (I was terrified) only to see a beautiful baby looking back at me, not only that but he is a boy very healthy and to my amazement I was actually 25 weeks pregnant, I knew then mum had sent me a sign x x x

Rossy10 · 19/08/2017 17:42

Wow what a beautiful story Halo
I do believe our loved ones in heaven are always there to guide us and we have to believe, listen and be intuitive. I'm so happy for you Smile

SleightOfHand · 19/08/2017 17:46

Ollie Bandler and Grinder influence by Shamanism, I can dig that. I think we can learn a lot from it.

SleightOfHand · 19/08/2017 17:52

Abraham Hicks, I'll have a listen, thanks.

SleightOfHand · 19/08/2017 18:01

I've just had a quick listen but the woman's voice is very fast and puts me on edge for some reason. Shock Eckart Tolle has such a calming voice and speaks about half the speed Grin thanks for the recommendation though.

Rossy10 · 19/08/2017 18:08

Lol try one of her guided meditations on you tube

SleightOfHand · 19/08/2017 18:10

Yes, she's turned the speed down Grin

Rossy10 · 19/08/2017 18:13

She is amazing! - in my opinion

Rossy10 · 19/08/2017 18:16

We should start a little book club! Who's interested?

0ccamsRazor · 19/08/2017 18:23
