Hi all!

I am thinking of setting up an online shop for hijabs and headscarves mainly. Including neck ties and other scarf styles and accessories. Think tie rack!

How do you think this would do? Any covered ladies think its a good idea? I struggle to find good scarves here in the uk.

I havent done anything yet just something that popped into my head this morning and thought i would look into.

Simarly any other scarf lovers out there? I used to add one to my hnd bag or neck before i covered my hair.

Let me know what you all think please!

Have you perhaps thought of googling hijab fashion? There seems to be plenty out there.

I think you would struggle selling scarves alone. You wouldn't be able to have a whole shop solely decidcated to scarves and there aren't really any retailers that I can think of who would stock such an item in large quantities. Have you considered doing a, as much as I hate the word, 'modest' wear brand with things like high necklines, maxi skirts etc? Alternatively you could do it 100% online, maybe even like a subscription box where you get a set number of scarves each month in the post?

Thanks guys. Yes it wouls be solely online. I was thinking accessories as well. Maybe hats, ties, costume jewellery. I know there a lot out there but a lot seem dull and boring. And i like colour. I have some contacts abroad so would be cheaper and better quality. No desire for a shop as i ama sahm with 3 los. But just something to earn a little and maybe expand in a few years time.Cothing ia a good idea. I find it difficult to find good clothing thats not see through and a descent price. I tend to layer up which is awful in the summer. Will take your thoughts on board!

Thanks

I think that a subscription box idea as suggested by a pp would be good to explore, and with the popularity of beauty subscription boxes there may be a market, and you could do that from home on a small scale at first

There are lots of online shops selling just scarves that are aimed at Muslims so I maybe you would have to have something different about your shop to stand out. Try selling maxi jersey scarves that are genuinely maxi sized, nobody else does and i'd buy them Grin

Thanms stateless. Good idea. And the subscription box is a good idea! Probably easier to manage too

Thanks. Ive been looking into this subscription box and it looks good! Thank you.

I was thinking of 2 boxes one for ladies who wear the heasscarf and one for those who wear it as an accessory!
