just needed to shout from the roof tops really. have been on alpha for couple of months now and i feel like a new woman.
although bought up christian like alot of people i just wandered away from it. only started back at church a couple of years ago and got dragged to alpha by a friend (who gave up after 1!)
it has completly changed me. i feel so complete now, i pray every morning and am reading the bible when time allows. i feel like laughing for no reason..
thanks for that, just wanted to tell everyone.xxxxx

congratulations!! Keep feeding that fire with reading and praying - it will be an excellent foundation for things to come.

MaryBS · 12/03/2007 22:41

Fantastic! Just remember how you are feeling now! It will lift you up when you are down, and strengthen you when you are weak

catASTROPHE · 12/03/2007 22:43

Yay for you!

catASTROPHE · 12/03/2007 22:45

Hi, am also doing Alpha course but still can't get my head round it all!! If it's that good then why isn't it that easy??

longwaytogoandabitfurther · 23/03/2007 21:45

shagirl it sometimes takes a long time for it to sink in. What are you finding difficult?

EstherL · 24/03/2007 14:52

I can understand that, shagirl, just take it in a little bit at a time, it's worth it to search through all the little bits, go ahead and keep asking questions till you feel comfortable

harrisey · 26/03/2007 02:13

Is anything that good ever that easy?
Being a Christian is not just accepting Jesus as your saviour, its also allowing him to be Lord of your life.
Its not easy, but it is worth every bit of it as far as I am concerned.

I'm random posting as I was baptised today, after 20 years as a Christian. Its so worth going for it when it comes to believing, there is nothing, not my husband (who was also baptised with me) or my children (who we dediceted to God in the service today) to even come close to the joy of knowing Jesus. Its just awesome.

Imback, I know how you feeel. I cant wipe the grin off my face!

Many churches will organise some kind of follow up to Alpha, a discipleship group, or maybe something more formal such as 'Christianity Explored'. Ask your group leader or minister doing the course what might be available. ANother option is to join a homegroup/cell group/bible study group/contact group (lots of churches call them different things!) in the church alpha is connected with, the churches that run alpha usually have a lot of other things going on as well.
Its really encouraging to hear that alpha has changed your life so much. I've been a CHristian long enough that it passed me by, but have heard so many good things abot it, including form my husband who was a group leader for it (finishing a few weeks ago). I'll be praying fo you as you finish and go on to the next step. Feel free to come and chat to us on the prayer request etc threads - we're very friendly!
