Hi looking for a chat with any other mums who are interested in Reiki, healing, angels, etc..... :-)

oasis · 12/02/2007 07:42

hi, I have studied Reiki to level two standard and recently have started learning about working with Angels, all very interesting stuff. What about you?

shantistar · 12/02/2007 18:56

hi oasis, I've been doing Reiki for a few years now and meet up with friends to share reiki once a month. I've recently had my second son and feel I've neglected my self healing, but I'm gradually getting back on track. Have you read any of doreen virtue's books on angels? I especially like using her Archangel cards.

Spidermama · 12/02/2007 18:58

Noddy is into reiki. Bumping for her.

I've had reiki a few times and it has always been pretty effective in all sorts of ways I hadn't predicted. I wouldn't pretend to understand it though.

tibsy · 12/02/2007 19:28

hi, i have also been doing reiki for a couple of years and am a complementary therapist, although a lot seems to have gone by the by since having dd!! not working at the moment, don't have the time, although do the odd day here and there!!! and am trying to fit reading in to the equation with little success. had some nice angel cards but can't remember which ones they were, will have to check them out...

nearlythree · 12/02/2007 22:17

I hope to train for reiki once I get the time - mainly b/c I want to be able to do something for my dcs when they are ill or out-of-sorts. Also just starting to become interested in crystals and angels.

Do any of you share these things with your dcs? My dd1 is fascinated by crystals and angels, she has collections ofthem in her room.

oasis · 13/02/2007 07:44

hi Shantistar, since having dd I have had very little time to concentrate on Reiki. I have a really good meditation cd that I used to use whilst giving myself Reiki.
As for Angels I am a new convert, really like the Doreen Virtue Angel cards and use a set each day which always seem to be very relevant to what is going on in my life. I find Doreen's books a little too much for me and have been reading Diana Cooper who I can relate to more. I had a really beautiful Angel reading from a lady in Canada just before Christmas (a present from my sister) and it was really special. Also got a new Ipod for Christmas so now download Doreen's show and a few others from Hay house radio, have you heard of them?
Nearlythree - My DD is a little too young to share in all of this, but I have no problems with her looking at my cards or playing with my crystals.

nearlythree · 13/02/2007 08:32

My dd1 is nearly five - she loves all things spiritual. Up until recently we went to church and so we have a big mix of influences going on at home.

fransrosesarered · 13/02/2007 21:29

wow i can't believe i found this thread am also interested in this area and have had experience of reiki before - my friend was studying to be a reiki practitioner and invited me to take part in her studies.

i can't help wondering if i was meant to find this thread

shantistar · 13/02/2007 21:33

Hi Tibsy
I'm a therapist myself, but like you haven't been workng for a while since. Have been doing my self healing and working with 'Archangel Ariel' Had an Angel card reading at consciousone dot com using the messages from your angels orarcle cards (free) which we really positive.

OP posts:
Bovvy · 13/02/2007 21:37

Angels are hear to help us all and want to. The law of free will stops them from jumping in if we haven't asked.

Try the parking angels next time your out. You will be suprised.

As for healing - when laying in bed (best time as relaxed) asked for some healing on yourself. Close your eyes and relax, rhythmic breathing and imaging a white fog slowing coming up from your feet right through your body to the crown of your head. You will feel so relaxed and should have a lovely night sleep. Try it!!

shantistar · 13/02/2007 21:44

Oasis - have you tried the Diana Cooper, Unicorn Meditation CD? Its lovely. I have newsletters from Hay House - interested in Gordon Smith - I have seen him twice on stage. I haven't listened to the Radio show though - must give it a go.
I must admit I found D Coopers books hard going, but maybe its just her style of writing! Do you have plans to study anything else?

OP posts:
fransrosesarered · 13/02/2007 21:45

ps i agree that we do have to ask before the angels can help. i have the dreaded lurgy at the moment and feel like i've got razors lodged in my throat. i recenlty read a magazine which said that Archangel Raphael is the healing angel so i asked for his help when i first started feeling poorly. i felt really at peace and some hands on my throat, after some time had passed my throat felt a whole lot better. tho i haven't asked for help for a while which is why my throat feels so sore

shantistar · 13/02/2007 21:48

Bovvy

I thought I was the only mad one! I always ask my angels for parking spaces!! and I always thank them for their help.

I ask for their help when I give treatments too, both my own angels and the clients.

I love to feel their presence around me when I'm working with them.

shantisatr, what's the website for hay house please?

tibsy · 13/02/2007 22:01

hi to you all!!
fransrosesarered, have you tried visualising the colour blue (the colour associated with the throat chakra)around your sore throat?

shanti, do you ask for protection before you do your therapies? i went to work for a one off the other week and, completely out of practise, forgot....i had a splitting headache all that evening and the next morning. wont forget again in a hurry!!

fransrosesarered · 13/02/2007 22:10

no i ahven't though i shoudl have remembered - blue is also the colour i associate with healing. thank you tibsy x

fransrosesarered · 13/02/2007 22:11

it would seem that i can't spell very well tonight

oasis · 14/02/2007 07:24

fransrosesarered - Hope this link work for you. Hay House radio

Shantistar - Have not really tried any other meditation CD's will look out for Diana's though.Really enjoy her book 'A little light on Spiritual Laws'.
Have found that by the time I get round to some time for me it is usually going to sleep after a hectic day with DD, so meditation and anything else gets ignored. Have looked at Archetypes and listened to Hay House about them which was very interesting, but am not sure as to what next I want to learn about. Am happy to potter about and look at things that interest me and usually something grabs hold that I really connect with and I learn all I can about that new topic. What about you? What new things would you like to learn about?

Bovvy · 14/02/2007 12:05

Shanti! Good glad another 'odd ball' like me!! My dad thinks I have totally lost the plot now. Mind you, I told my dad he must have his heart checked as feel problems with mumur. He came back from docs today with high blood pressure so he has taken my advice and going back tom to have heart checked.

Yes I love my angels. I work with them constantly and they are always there (especially when I need a space!!). And yes you are right you must always thank them. Shows respect.

It is important to ask for protection when you do any kind of healing. A quick way I like to protect myself is visualising myself in a golden bubble and ask my archangels to protect me from all negativity for the best possible outcome and the highest good. I also find this one useful if I have to go to a shopping mall or I have to visit a place where there are lots of people.

OP posts:
shantistar · 14/02/2007 13:00

Bovvy - perhaps your Dad could do with some distant healing. Angels can help with this too. Its a bit like saying a prayer for him, and always end by saying for the best possible outcome and the highest good, that way his higher self has the opportunity to accept the healing you are sending. You dont have to tell him you are doing this!
Good luck

Hi all, I have done the Reiki I and II attunements but don't use them at all.

I went to someone else for a treatment last week as I have been ttc for a while without luck.

Do you think my angels could help with this (have to admit to VERY limited knowledge of angels)?

shantistar · 14/02/2007 13:06

Oasis - there is so much to learn out there you can get bogged down just by thinking about what to do next. Like you Im enjoying the simple things, like hanging the washing out this morning in the glorious sunshine (sad or what!), I'm looking forward to lighter days and more sunshine. I guess when I get back to my therapies I would like to do a refresher on Massage/Aromatherapy. I would quite like to add crystal treatments to my list....

OP posts:
shantistar · 14/02/2007 13:12

Hi sideways and welcome - it took me over 6 years to conceive my second son and I always asked my angels to help me. I believe that when the time is right and it was meant to be, it will happen. You could say a simple affirmation "Archangels surround me and my (husband/partner) with love, light and healing today, for the best possible outcome and the highest good", that way if healing is required it will come to you. You may also ask for protection against all negativity too. Say thank you each day for the angels help. Stay positive and good luck.
