please could you help me - dd1 needs to write a prayer for Rainbows...

Only requirement is, according to her, that it starts with Dear God and ends with Amen.

My mind goes blank I'm afraid, does anybody have any suggestions? Doesn't have to be long!

Thank you for our bodies. Help us to look after them by eating the right food and taking exercise.

Amen

Thank you for giving me arms and legs and the strength to move about.

Thank you for giving me fruits and vegetables to eat.

Thank you for giving me water to drink.

I thank you Lord for all these things.

I have a friend who is very deeply involved in the Guide/brownie movement, of which I understand that Rainbows is a part. She has said (when the subject came up in conversation elsewhere) that you don't have to be a Christian to be a guide/brownie/rainbow/cub scout/whatever.
So I kind of wonder about your DD being asked to produce a :"prayer" and would offer the following .

I'm happy to have a healthy body
I'm happy to have good friends
I hope to keep my body healthy
I hope to be a good friend to my friends
Life is good, let's enjoy it.

And say to DD that not everyone believes in gods and it' s not a big deal if you don't.
