Wedding blessing experiences

Maybe this should be in Celebrations, sorry if it's too shallow for this board!

DH and I are starting to plan a blessing for our wedding, on our 3rd anniversary.

When we got married, dh was an Jewish convert and therefore we married in a register office. Since then and a few experiences down the line he is pretty sure he wants to be baptised as a Christian (Anglican). This hasn't actually happened yet, but our vicar knowing us both is happy to do a blessing now.

We are planning to have just the two of us plus the vicar, in the ladychapel (followed by nice lunch [shallow emoticon]. I would like us to read Psalm 34 as part of the service but otherwise have never been to a wedding blessing. Does anyone have any experience of what was included? obv no music as it's just 3 people there.

well, i suppose i just feel that if i were truly religious, an entire service would just well up from my ecstatic soul, without me having to leaf through normally unthumbed books of prayers going 'mmm, quite like that one'

but yes, although i would be quite happy without it, i am very chuffed at the thought of doing this, esp after such a v v difficult patch last year

DH and I had a catholic church blessing 2 weeks after out true wedding(married on holiday.)

Our blessing was almost identical to a wedding ceremony - we had the full works, the readings, the vows, blessings of the rings, hymns, etc. But we had a whole congregation as well so very much like the real thing.
