Things keep turning on in the house.

Whats that all about then?

It started a few weeks ago. I'd been in the kids bedroom, to tuck them in before I went to bed. I turned the little bedside light they have off. They were sound asleep. I went to the bathroom (next to their room) and when I walked past their door a minute later the light was on again.

Well since that incident several things have turned on. The computer in their room is old and quite noisy when left on, so I always turn it off at the wall. That has been switched back on a few times.

Last night/this morning early hours, I thought one of the girls must have got up and gone downstairs and put the telly on as I could hear it blaring out. When I came down the telly was on but everyone was in bed alseep.

I'm not worried or scared by this as we had incidents with things moving around in our old house. I just wondered if any one had any idea what's causing it.

We've lived here for 3 years and although it's an old house with a well in the cellar (creepy!) it's not a spooky house and feels to me as if it has a happy vibe IYKWIM.

are any of the children prone to sleep walking?

expatinscotland · 22/01/2007 16:38

Check your circuits and wiring.

Madoldcatlady · 22/01/2007 16:48

No we don't have any sleep walkers Misdee.
The first time with the light turning on I would have heard them get out of bed. Although it's a bedside lamp,I keep it on top of their book case at the other end of the room and it's too high for them to reach without standing on something.

It can't be the wiring expat. The computer is always turned off at the wall, so the switch has to be flipped on again.

Hi Madoldcatlady

You may think im a bit mad or odd but I have read that the energy of spirits can cause things like this to happen. Have you considered that it could be a deceased loved one or spirit guide etc that could be coming to say hello.

Hi buggy. Thanks for you message. I had lots of activity of sorts in my old house. We had sold it to my mum, but remained living in it for a year (long story) then mum eventually sold it. After we moved out but the house was up for sale, in between visits to do viewings, a candle in the bathroom would regularly move in and out of the bath!

I was put in touch with a lovely lady who did spiritual house clearings (don't know the correct term, but she was intouch with spirits) She dowsed the house with a crystal on a chain asking questions of the spirit. It turned out to be my DH who had been in the bathroom when I had to call an ambulance as he couldn't breathe, to cut a long story short he died in hospital a month later.

He told her lots of things about us and himself so I think I believed her. Any way, she said he had got stuck in the house and had to be sent on his way to the other side, heaven, or what ever you like to call it.

A week or so later she performed a very moving ceremony where she called on the angels and Arch/Arc? Angels to help him on his way. She felt it was a success and nothing more happened in the house.

I'm losing the plot here!

Do you think this is connected with the old house and DH or something different altogether?

As I said this is a very old house and the previous residents died here as far as I know.

hi madoldcatlady, on the face of things (without knowing you or your house) i think it sounds like your dh; if it was anything else you would know by the lady's reactions. i know what i would like to say but can't hink how to say it so maybe t might be worth you contacting stg on mn? hth fmx

Madoldcatlady · 29/01/2007 21:23

But how would he be able to come with us to this house? Sorry, I'm not very "up" on these things!

Please feel free to say what you want fransmom.

Perhaps it's your DH visting and letting you know he's with you.

fransmom · 30/01/2007 18:28

the same as you would when visiting a friend in their new house well, maybe technically not quite the same

Madoldcatlady · 30/01/2007 20:48

I'd love to think that was the case.
I think I'll stick with that theory.Thanks.xx

It sounds as if your spirit is keeping you on your toes Madoldcatlady!
I have a similar problem in that as a clairvoyant I have a lot of electrical problems in my house and wherever I go. Those of us with psychic energy have, i'm afraid, the 'joy' of electrical equipment occasionally going on the blink. Although the fact that the actual switch turns itself on would suggest a spirit trying to get intouch. I would suggest you try and find some quiet time to meditate and ask for whoever it is trying to get in touch that that they stop playing with the electrical points and either communicate with you through meditation or go and visit a medium. It may be something urgent they are trying to tell you!
My TV, stereo, DVD, etc is always playing me around and I have lights turning themselves on or off on a daily basis. However, considering the work I do (Clairvoyant Tarot readings) it doesn't freak me out. Good luck, and I hope they are trying to tell you something nice

buggybrolly · 07/02/2007 19:55

Hi madoldcatlady

For what it is worth and Im not an expert by any means but I would say that it could well be your DH coming to let you know he is still around.

I do hope the ceremony has now passed him onto the otherside. I believe that our loved ones that have passed over and guides etc do try to communicate with us and using their energy they can interfere with lights and electrical appliances etc.

Tarotmum is obviously the one to listen to here as she experiences these things in her line of work.

Going to a psychic/medium (reputable one) could help you to understand whats going on.

From the things I have read up on, I believe that there can be spirits (?) that attach themselves to houses or people or indeed objects.

With the risk of sounding silly - are you frightened?

fransmom · 08/02/2007 08:21

hi bb (and no disrespect meant to tarotlady) i am no expert either but i do have some nearly 20yrs experience of things like this and imho/e it is best not to just listen to one person but to listen to the few you think sound reasonable and then take out to listen to to the bits you think aremost reasonable. hth mocl

buggybrolly · 08/02/2007 10:19

Hi Fransmum

Yes I think that you are correct. Didnt mean not too take any body elses comments on board, I just didnt want to sound like I know it all as I do not lol.

fransmom · 09/02/2007 21:56

it sounds like i took things the wrong way again. i'm prone to doing that lately

So the latest happenings are-

Male laughter!
Yesterday I was in the kitchen. No men in the house, no TV on. Children in the living room on Nintendo DSs. I heard very loud clear male laughter from the dinning room (inbetween kitchen and living room) I assumed my neighbour had come round for something, he doesn't usually let himself in but couldn't think who else it was.

I went through the dinning room and there was no one there. Went to the kids and said
"who was that laughing?" they had no idea what I was talking about.

It didn't sound like a man laughing in thr next room. It WAS a man laughing in the next room, I just can't explain who!

Then this morning when I came downstairs the lamp in the dinning room was turned on after never being on last night.

something similar like that happened here when dd had gone to bed. i had just put her to lie down and she was smiling and said nanny. so i just said wel, nanny can read you a story as long as you behave but you must behave. you know, i never heard a peep out of her hardly until dd started talking. i heard a woman's voice but couldn't quite catch whether it was my mom's or dp's mom. would love to have knwon. gut feeling is my mom but i never heard dp's mom voice. it's lovely to know that they can see her/she can see them

pirategirl · 05/03/2007 22:04

Hi Madoldcat lady.
Firstly, I am glad you enjoyed my duckling story!!!

It's so weird, but then I like wierd, but I have had a few experiences only this last week that I havent been able to fathom, along the sort of line you have.

So seeing thispost, and that it was form you was eerie in itself iyswim.

I was wondering about teh energy of the lunar eclipse, and the effect is was having. I also think that it sounds very plausable that your dh spirit, altho moved on from you last home, may just be saying hello?

I have has lots of strange things happen in my life time, and am very interested in any explanations. i dont know much about this kind of thing, but just wanted to say please let us know if you are ok, and if anything else happens. take care.x

Madoldcatlady · 06/03/2007 07:28

Thanks Pirategirl.

I'm never frightened or worried by any of this. I'd just love to know what it's all about!

I'll let you know if anything else happens.

You could have a point re. the eclipse.
