'Closer To God' - daily bible readings.

I thought I'd start a new thread as there were a few of us Christians who said we would like to talk about these daily readings together.

Now I'm going to go and look at todays!!

OK, its Monday, a new week so a new start!!!

Help it is hard trying to find time to do it every day!!

The Day One reading this week is in Hebrews. It was the preparing bi tthat really cought my eye though - giving thanks for the things and people which are precious to you , but remembering that God is more precious, the most important thing in our lives. Because I don't always have time to spend a lot of time with God in the day I sometimes do forget how important he is supposed to be to me. That sounds awful! Like we said on the other thread, its hard to find the time and space!
I also liked the idea that we have to listen to all the different voices and information that come our way and filter them, but that the voice of Jesus is the one that we should hear the most clearly. I wish I could.

Through being a CHristian I think one of the most important things I have discovered abotu God is his patience. He's ever so patient with me as I struggle along.

What about you, or am I talking to myself (as normal!!)

I know what you mean about making time. I read in Church regularly and go to a mums bible group but don't read the bible enough in between TBH. I'm starting to absorb more now though whereas not so long ago I'd read the words but not hear them iykwim??

Hey this is encouraging to hear from other christians especially you bloss as i have read some great advice from you, so thank you. I've just been listening to a teaching by andrew wommack we get them on cd rom every month. Its a good way of focussing on God whilst playing with my 15 month old dd.

I too am beginning to realise the importance of spending time in the word even just thinking about a scripture during the day. Sorry Im going off on a tangent. God longs for us to draw near to Him though doesnt He afraid i'm a bit of a Martha at times though!

Do we want to do the readings or do we just want to have a chat? It's really nice to have 'met' a bunch of other Christian Mums on MN, as long as we keep in touch I don't care how!
