Visiting a mosque, question

Hi I'm visiting a mosque with a Scout group tonight. I've just realised that I'm the only female on the trip and the scout leader may not have though about it being different for me.

Will I need to wear a headscarf? I presume so. Always have a scarf on anyway, so not a problem.

Is there anything else I need to consider?

Anyone?

Yes, you will need to wear a headscarf and you will all have to take your shoes off.

Thanks Balloondog. I knew about the shoes as the scout leader told all the boys to wear clean socks. Smile

I think it depends on the mosque, unless you're praying a visitor doesn't need to cover her hair. Would covers arms and legs and yes remove shoes in the prayer areas.

When I went on a school trip there were scarfs to borrow if we wished to do so.

I assume you are in England, so why would you wear a head scarf?
The shoes I can imagine for hygiene on carpet reasons but why the head scarf?
