Children that have 'been here before'

I've been going to a cranial osteopath with my children.. she seems very 'spiritual' if that makes sense. She's very calm, gentle and the type of person you instantly trust. On a number of occiasions she has told me how my dd1 has 'been here before', and is 'knowing'. She has said the same about dd2 who is a few weeks old. I have always 'felt' the same about my children and wasnt surprised to have someone else say it. Has anyone else experienced this? just wondered how you would describe it, and how you understand it. Do i sound bonkers?

In what way is this different from the standard imginary friend/sister/brother ?

southeastastra · 12/12/2006 21:45

i do think some people are born as 'old souls'

my brother had a long running "story" about his other family - from a very young age, and always consistant. He used the word eskimo which he had never been exposed to before.

Some people say that about DS but I'm not sure!

DominiConnor · 12/12/2006 22:10

How do you know for a fact that he'd not heard "eskimo" ?
It's a mildly common word isn't it ?

I read a very interesting book about this recently. I'll try to remember what it was called.....

TooTickyDoves · 12/12/2006 22:15

this is it

dominiconnor - the "standard imaginary sister/brother (etc)" that you speak of is /are known to be spirit guides that help young children and may well stay with that child through life. i have always known that i should've had an older brother (never an older sister) and it wasn't until 2years after i had my own mc that i found out my mother was pg before she carried me. but then that brings up other questions for you presumably?

with respect to any people on here that have "lost" children, some grow up in the spirit life whilst others may return to the circle of life to be born again. i realise that this may seem rather surreal but this is my experience and from my experience it is true.

i know that i have been her before and have had flashes of previous lives but nothing for a while as i have been too busy to pay much attention to what i should've made some time for. my dd is also i believe an old soul as i seemed to recognise her when she was born and a few people have said that about both of us,.
