Rosh hashanah - how long would an observant Jewish person be away from work?

I need to chase someone for something, but don't want to bombard with emails while they're off, iyswim.

I guess today and yesterday, would you expect someone who was religiously observant to be back to work tomorrow, or are they off for longer?

Why don't you just email and say it's for when they're back?

If they're observant enough to be off then they shouldn't be checking email at all.

they should be back by now as it only lasts 2 days!!
