search for things! isn't there meant to be different lengths to hold it, to find certain things, gold, iron etc. may be totally wrong

chain

What is it made of?
Does it have a chain or is it on something else? (ribbon maybe?)

The pointy bit is sodalite (sp?) and there isa quartz crystal ontop of that.
It swings on a chain

Thanks

OK

Well ignoring the pendulum bit for now, the stone itself is useful for various things. Probably pretty good for you in this learning phase as it it great for increasing consciousness and the search for truth.

To use the pendulum you have to get to 'know it'. Spend time holding it, especially when relaxed or meditating. When you feel ready to use it, you need to learn a few basics.

There is no right or wrong way for a pendulum to make indications. Ask a yes/no question that you know the truthful answer to and then hold the pendulum steadily in one hand, with the chain relaxed over your finger tips. See how it reacts. Ask further questions that will provide the opposite answer. In this way you will know how to recognise yes & no. When ready, go on to ask questions that you want the answer to.

The rest is over to you and your pendulum

Just remember to confirm yes/no each time you start a session by asking the known questions first.

Of course it was relevant flamey - although as usual you answered your own problem RELAX.

Try this as a starter Crystal.

Ooh this is interesting stuff. I'd like a pendulum too, and might add it to my christmas list.

I'm just setting out on my tealeaf reading path and, having stumbled around not really knowing what I was doing, a very helpful lady at the church were Flame got married helped me to do my first reading on her. Totally freaked me that I was able to do it. I feel like I'm thirsty now for more knowledge and I definitely need to learn how to "tune in", if that's the right word and I think I need to gain confidence in my own ability.
