Book for nearly 3yo that explains the Christmas story?

I should stress I'm not religious, so want something simple and straightforward that doesn't preach. I hope that doesn't sound either naive or offensive but while I don't have a Christian agenda I also don't want the DDs to be ignorant of what Christmas is all about, especially as DD1 is doing a nativity play at nursery this year.

Thanks

I have "A Christmas Story" by Brian Wildsmith which tells the story of Xmas from the donkey's point of view! Let me re-read it and re-post in a min, but from what I remember last year, it's a nice story

Okay.
So, the story has the little donkey, whos mum has to travel with Mary and Joseph on a long journey, leaving the little donkey with Rebecca.
The donkey gets lonely and misses his mum, so Rebecca and the donkey travel to find his mum, Mary and Joseph.
Stop and talk to a few of the people from the Bible story (without all the explanation as to what is happening). Eventually get told by an inn keeper that the donkey, Mary and Joseph are in the stable. Go and see the baby. Pics in the book show angels etc but dont point them out if you see what I mean?

Pretty much any Nativity book that you can buy in the High Street will be fine, the more dogamtic ones are hard to find these days.

Thanks elf that's useful. Was looking to buy something on amazon nearly3 - no suitable shops on our high street

We bought Ds a lovely Usbourne one last year. It's one of the ones that have the plasticine models and tells the nativity in a really simple way that isn't at all preachy or OTT on the religious side. It's a 'lift the flap' as well and the pictures are very detailed. I'll run up and check what it's actually called in a second.
