i went to a meeting recently and for the third time it has been said that i would be doing their job. have probs with confidence and can give messages to friends, still very careful who i tell what i can do.

it was also said that i would be one of the better ones and a very good animal healer. have said that i would but not sure what to do. do i meditate and have i just answered my own question? sorry if it's confusing but keep getting lots of signs i have company. tia

ps couldn't be bothered chanign my name, if someone knows me, they know me if that makes sense. read through some old threads for some advice and i felt the same - like i was, not quite, but going mad

what, specifically, is your question? IMVHE if it(healing)needs to be done (or if amessage needs to come out) it will and you will know what to do or say, however uncomfortable it makes you feel. HTH

fransmom · 14/11/2006 20:51

this might not make sense but i'm not entirely sure. i watch the programmes on telly eg colin fry, tony stockwell, and think i could do that but...... i don't. i spose i was just wondering if anybody else felt that way? is it a confidence thing do you think

have you ever spoken to a medium? my parents were into all that bollocks (sorry, I am a non believer but was brought up with all of it!) and my sister is now an animal behaviourist but started out as a 'horse whisperer'

yes, I think a lot of it is confidence - then building up a regular client base who then pass on recommendations and on it goes

foxinsocks · 14/11/2006 20:55

I mean spoken to a medium about how to get started etc.

iris66 · 14/11/2006 21:01

sounds like a confidence thing to me. I'd be inclined (as foxinsocks said)to have a chat with a medium to see how they started. Alternatively, you could wait until it's "your turn" to be forced. (but maybe this forum is what is needed to force you to be brave and ignore your inner critic?!)

smeeinit · 16/11/2006 17:45

fransmom, ask spirit for help and they will oblige as am sure you know.
if your not sure what spiritual path you should be taking then ask spirit to help with it and leave it in their hands.
the great thing is you are recognising the signs so your on the right track

fransmom · 21/11/2006 21:47

thanks smeeinit. i think iris66 that it is now being strongly suggested

Have you read Mia Dolan's books? "Mia's world" and "The gift". She explains it very well - she taught a very sceptical journalist how to tune in. Journalist completely converted.

fransmom · 26/11/2006 21:52

i think i have one of them.... perhaps mia's world. also have the book by derek ogilvie, the baby whisperer. v.interesting

No advice, but I am fascinated by all this.

I would LOVE to have a reading - anyone know how I go about it and how much it is likely to cost?

My mum passed away just over 2 years ago - very suddenly - no chance to say goodbye, and I guess I want some sort of closure.

TIA of any help x

smeeinit · 26/11/2006 23:09

jarm, best thing to do is go along to your local spiritualist church, they are very friendly and will be able to put you in touch with a medium, many mediums do not charge for a reading..........many do! around the £20 mark.
dont get your hopes up tho that you will get a message from your mum,it doesnt always happen the way you want it to.
it can take many many years for spirit to be able to connect back to loved ones etc,but dont let that put you off,it can take hours after passing also!
go along to your local church and find out some more about it all.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 27/11/2006 08:51

thanls smeeinit - local spiritualist church - that scares me a little. Will look into it though, thank you x

smeeinit · 27/11/2006 09:13

dont be scared by it,honestly! they are very friendly places, you will be warmly welcomed. they are normally held in a local hall or club and very informal.
if you would like me to help find your local s.church then mail me on

No help with the initial post really - I'm still in hiding from it mode myself... someone get expat in here!!

JARM - Spiritualist churches are wonderful places, sooooooooo calming (my wedding was in one ). If you go to a Sunday service you would be able to get the feel of the place and then speak to someone afterwards. The less a medium charges, the more confidence I have in them - especially healing which I feel should be donation only.

SaintGeorge · 27/11/2006 10:15

In answer to the OP.

Meditation is a good start. It can clear up a lot of questions if you can go deep enough. If you do have the calling, you will likely find your spirit guides stepping in to help you.

With regards to the healing, the best way to start is to just try

My 5 yr old DS is a natural healer. I know I can provide some healing, but nothing major. Don't really want to go into stuff too deeply on here but email me if you want to chat further.

fransmom · 27/11/2006 20:42

thanks st george x will do.

the issue of mediums charging for a reading can be very controversial as there are quite a few charlatans who will tar the rest of us witht he same brush and it makes it that much harder for people to trust the genuine ones. but then i spose it makes the evidence that much more evidential. what's the word i'm looking for? help........ !
