Anybody read these? I happened to pick one up called You're Special when I was waiting to be shown around a potential school for ds and it struck such a chord with me I was in tears - very embarrassing and in front of the deputy head who was giving me the tour!

I've ordered this from Amazon, had to have it right away.

Hi Jodee, I've got a few Max Lucado books - I really love his writing. My favourite is a short passage from a book called "In the eye of the Storm" - it's his early morning reflection on the next 24 hours and how he has the choice to be peaceful, generous, loving etc. It's brilliant to use as a meditation.
Actually, dh (local preacher) used another ML reading at a Good Friday service and 3 people came up afterwards and asked for details about it because it had "struck a chord" with them. He (ML not dh!) must just have the knack!

Hi Judd, I'll have to find out more about the book you mentioned, could be what I need to get me in the right frame of mind to start the day (and deal with ds!).

I bought You Are Special for ds, but it's message could also be for adults and cut deep into me - the back of the book reads:

The world tells kids "You are special if you have the brains, the looks, the talent".

God tells them "You are special just because. No qualifications necessary".

So true.

"In the Grip of grace" and "Who moved the Stone" are excellent too
