Why does religious building have bricked up windows?

Every single part of the building which would let in light has been bricked up.

It's a busy building and has many people coming and going.

I've been told it's a Brethren building although I'm I'm not sure about this.

Just curious!

Is it a new build Kingdom Hall?

It's a new build.

To save money and time.

Kingdom Halls are built by volunteers. Windows are costly and timely to install.

But they've been bricked up as they're in a different colour brick.

And wouldn't there be some kind of law about the amount of natural light a building needs to let in the UK? And also for fire safety?

I wonder if it could be for security. I know that sometimes that's the reason Kingdom Halls don't have windows, especially in inner city areas. I'm sure it wouldn't be for any kind of sinister reason

I presume its an exclusive brethren/plymouth brethren christian church meeting hall. The majority of their churches are built without windows but some are adapted from existing buildings and so windows are bricked or boarded up. Ex members say this, along with not having clocks in the meeting hall is a measure designed to disorientate followers and also to prevent non believers spying on proceedings inside. Xx

The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church buildings traditionally had small windows very high up to let in light but not let anyone see in. I am not sure why a new build would build windows and brick them up. What part of the world are you in? Presumably there will be a sign outside saying what the hall is for at some stage. The new meeting rooms these days are often built with big perimeter fences and gates manned by security guards
