Are there ingredients I need to exclude if baking a cake for a Muslim family?

Hi,
I want to bake a congratulatory cake for my Muslim neighbours. I am not religious, but I want to be sympathetic to their religious beliefs. Google mentions something about fat being an issue - is that something I need to be aware of? Or is there anything else I should bear in mind? Thanks for your help

To be honest, most Muslims I know operate an "avoid pork and booze if possible, and otherwise what I don't know can't hurt me" policy - but everyone's different and some people may be more strict. I think apart from some very specific processed foods which are made using techniques which involve alcohol, pretty much everything that's okay for a teetotal veggie is okay under Islam - but if you want to be sure I think you should wait and see if someone more knowledgeable comes along

These days if it's ok for halal diets it usually has a little picture on it.

Avoid lard, gelatine and anything alcoholic (check vanilla essence) and that's it really.
