Does anyone know anything about Brethren Schools?

Thats it really. I noticed there seem to be some brethren posters here. There is a small brethren school in the town nearest to me. I have been told it might take my DC. ( I am not Brethren. I am Calvinist Christian - Baptist).

Its a private school, so how much are the fees likely to be? I cant find them on the web site. I would prefer not to bother them if its out of my reach. Thanks.

Hi angel, I put a news article link on your other thread about Brethren schools. I am surprised that they take non-brethren to be honest. The schools are very wealthy and probably state of the art. Their Christian principles would probably be similar to yours in some respects but very fundamental and some people (including me) would call them a cult. My family left this group in 1970.They forbade contact with anyone who left and still do.(although recently,they have allowed one-off visits in the uk as their charity status is currently under scrutiny by the charities commission so they are trying to put on a good show!) One of my cousins children left them a few years ago and lost his house,job and family. My parents,who did not even know of his existence, took him in for a year until he sorted himself out. He had to leave the 'cult' because he had a mobile phone and laptop and got found out. You can only have mobiles and computers that belong to the brethren network as they can screen your activity and block alot of websites.It also makes them a heap of money. All decisions are made by a man in Australia called Bruce Hales and although the rules change alot, currently,none of their kids are allowed to go on to further education. I think the hardest thing is that your DC would not be allowed to eat alongside them at school and would never be invited anywhere to play,nor would her friends be allowed to come to your home. If you have any doubts,why not visit and ask some questions.
