This is going to sound really freaky weird. A 3y.o.family member has begun asking her mum about things she sees that no one else does. Began with her aunt, when walking, wanted to know what "the light" behind them was, then who "the lady" was. Now months later asked mum "what's the shiny thing?" Pointed to it next to her, then asked" who's that?" Both adults just said they didn't know but were a bit freaked out, even her mum who has suffered similar events all her life but kept it very quiet, especially from husband. Is " eat your weetabix" the best answer?

It would probably be wise to get an eye test organised if her dd is seeing things that's aren't there. There are all manner of optical issues that could be responsible for what's happening.

I am very spiritual and fascinated by how much children can actually see into the spiritual world. There's lots of books on this but kids have very open minds as they are so innocent so do pick up on lots more than adults do. When growing up we are encouraged to close our minds such as being told that there's no one there or to stop being silly. So when we get to adulthood very few of us experience any of these things because our minds are now closed. IMO when our children tell us that they are seeing things or have seen people I don't think we should dismiss it because what if they aren't imagining it? What would that do to their self esteem? However if it does happen to be an imaginary friend or something they are doing for attention just let them do it. It's all part of growing up. Just simply say that you don't know who the lady is or you don't know what the light is.

Obviously as previously mentioned it could be something optical so maybe an eye test should be first on your list to eliminate any possible causes?

I honestly think it's amazing even if they aren't really seeing it, what a creative and wonderful imagination they are growing to have.

Actually thinking about it, these aren't the first instances. About a year ago she would turn her head as though watching something/ one move through their kitchen, and ask "who's that man?" on more than one occasion, to which mum said "I don't know". After a few months it turned into ""Where's Luke going?" But we don't know anyone called Luke. Like I said, weird.

I think regardless of whether she's imagining it or if she really is seeing things, it should be embraced let her talk to Luke and anyone else she might come across. If this was my DD I would be fascinated!

Well no, about 1 in 4 people claim to have had a paranormal experience and with more than half of the British population believing in ghosts it makes it a more commonly held belief than religion.

Doesn't sound freaky weird to me, I've had higher sensory perception for many years. Turns out my child also has.
To be told by others who cannot see the lights and shadows that you can, that there is nothing there-can be quite damaging, therefore saying ' I don't know' is probably a wise and truthful answer.
I see golden light emitting from behind people, this to me is guardian angel presence.
In my younger years I would shadows and felt very scared. As an adult I see sparkly lights and blobs of light of different colours.
When my child says he has seen what he has seen, I don't lead him into any particular route nor do I give him
explanations or tell him what he is noticing. Instead I ask him to tell me how he feels, and what he witnesses-that way I'm not putting ideas into his head.
Whilst looking through some photographs recently he advised of seeing his friends in the photo-there was only me, and 2 large orbs of light. I asked him where were his friends? When did he see them?
He told me he sees them in his bedroom at night but they don't speak to him, like some do.
I'm advising him how to shield his energy space through the use of colour; a technique that will serve him to discern any communication for himself, and will allow him to have the skills for understanding the spirit world at a much earlier age than I. I have never named anything for him or told him what others call this type of experience. For me, perhaps I would have not lived in fear for most of my life if someone showed a slight glimmer of support early on. I have explained to him that not everyone can see what he is seeing, but I can and do.
Both our eyes are fine, optician aware of lights and things we see.

Today we had more strangeness. She was at a historic loacl park, where a city guide was giving a talk. Her baby brother was asleep in his pushchair, her mum and others were waiting for the start on the site of abbey ruins when she excitedly peered down at the ground and said to her mum " look! Someone's lost a finger" her mum looked down at the newly mown grass there was nothing to see. So mum said " Where?" And she said "there!" And pointed at nothing. At my house later I asked if she'd enjoyed the park and she said she had been talking to " a big girl in a yellow dress, she was hiding" then "she told me her name". She didn't remember the name when I asked. Her mum saw no girl in a yellow dress. Apparently the speaker said all sorts of interesting things had occurred on the site including Charles 11 supporters having a battle there to distract from a real big battle elsewhere and a big house being burned down in a later war.
I am grateful for all the above comments. I have decided to start keeping a record whilst remaining neutral on what if anything is happening, just in case later in life she is interested, whether because she still "sees things" or is amused she once did.

This really fascinates me and I think it's really lovely that you're recording it all in case she wants to see it when she's older.

My DD said something to me today. We were lying on my bed having a rest because it's much cooler in there! And she was chatting away to me like normal then she held her hands up and said "oh Thomas is gone" I thought to myself that she hasn't got any friends called Thomas and she doesn't watch any tv programs with a character called Thomas. So I asked her "who's Thomas?" And she replied "he's a little boy" and then she went on to say he had gone again. So I said "where's he gone?" And she said "to town to see his mummy"

Whoever Thomas is I'm happy that my little one is so open minded this is the first occasion this has happened

This is not strange at all. Orbs of light are spirits - people who have crossed over. They are around us all the time. One day hopefully soon everyone will be a lot more conscious of this and realise that we do not actually die, just cross over.

Everybody is on their own spiritual path. The majority of people will be cynical about psychics and channellers mediums. It is always healthy to be sceptical and maintain an open mind but try and lose the cynicism.You will only ever believe if you have your own experience. If you find a good medium who tells you several things that are impossible for her to know you will be more open. You may still doubt and think it was a fluke. But the more experiences you have a more you start building up your own belief system. However, you cannot persuade anyone else to believe something they are not ready to believe. I had my own experience in 1994 and have totally changed my belief system since then. Personally I have no doubt that when you die you cross over. And that you meet your loved ones again. I am no longer afraid of dying. I do not see it as a negative experience.

You need to start listening to your inner voice and your gut instinct. This is what tells you the direction that you should be going in. This is also where you get your inspir(it)ation from and your guidance from spirit. When you get shivers down your spine that normally means that spirit is around you, usually a loved one. You need to talk to them and ask them for guidance. They will find a way of communicating with you and leading you down the right path but you have to be open to their guidance. Listen to songs on the radio. They are often used to send you a message by the other side. Be aware of the fact that people are put into your path to help you.

You might think it's a coincidence when you bump into someone you know who you haven't seen for awhile but they have actually been put into your path that day for a reason. You just have to figure out what it is. It might be for example that they tell you that they found a lump in their breast and went to get it checked out. It might be that you have also had a lump in your breast for awhile and have been meaning to get it checked out but that the conversation with this friend is what finally persuades you to go to the doctor. That is spirit trying to get you to do something.

Of course finding a good medium is the best way to communicate but you have to be aware of the con artists. Again use your gut instinct. I found the channellingerik.com website. It features a lot of good psychics mediums and channellers.

Of course most people that read what I have posted will think it's rubbish. But more and more people are coming out of the spiritual closet now and discussing these experiences. So do try to maintain an open mind. Find a good medium. Read "conversations with God" Read books by Dolores Cannon. Watch Alba Weinmann doing regression hypnosis that takes people back to their many previous lives. Look up psychics John Edward and Matt Fraser on YouTube. It may not convince you at all. Or It may just change your life.
