SS - help to design a lesson

A while ago I posted as I had concerns as a parent re Sunday school as it appeared to be a bit poor but was in inter reignment.

New vicar joined! Hurrah! I took all advice from here. I'm now volunteering.

The SS was following the lectionaries, new vicar prefers thematics. I've got a class on Sunday, my first lesson plan. I've no idea what to do. I can do a plan, eg introduce helpers, each other etc through to leave back to service but what on earth do I do for subject ?!

I've been told I can either do proper five or anything I like. Come Sept there's more of a plan for everything. But now, it's just hey fill 45 mins. I'm worried and a bit out of depth tbh.

Would anyone have an idea I could borrow please?

Oh, kids are 3-13yrs in one class at present. This will change but not right now. Colouring, sticking, cutting, drawing, can do. About 15 in total.

I've been given searchlight books but either the weeks been done or will be. Although I've been told I can hop about the book?

Sorry I didn't spot this - how did you get on? A possible free resource for ideas is www.scriptureunion.org.uk/123553.id - they have a suggested syllabus and resources. My church uses Click here so we follow a series (we have separate groups for pre-school/KS1/KS2/KS3 though which makes planning easier)
