Came across this recently. Apparently often attributed to Mother Teresa but is a paraphrase of an earlier poem which was put on the wall of one of Mother Teresa's orphanages.

Just think it is a lovely message and like it very much.

People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.

Just posting as I thought others may also like it.

Thank you, that is lovely. And so hard to do!

Mmm- an element of truth there in part but I don't agree with it wholeheartedly.
Sometimes we have to be strong and stand up for ourselves.

Love that! Thanks for posting.

I've never read this before.

I wholeheartedly agree, though I'm sure I fall short on every line!

Thanks for sharing hildas!

Just re-read it, such a powerful yet gentle message.
