Spirit Guides

I'm interested in connecting with my spirit guide and gate keeper. Does anyone have a certain way that they do this? I've read a book on spirit guides but there seems to be a lot of ritual involved? Is there a simpler way? TIA

I found that searching too actively didn't really work, my guides made themselves known to me when they thought I was ready.

Meditation was for me an obvious first and easy step. From there I built to visualisations. Learn to open up and the rest will come naturally.

SG - I know it might sound silly - but I don't have the abiliy to meditate

I can't seem to block htings out .... too busy making mental notes .... or fretting about the kids.

When I try to do it in bed ... I end up falling asleep !

When first learning it is best to sit upright, without anything supporting your back. It is less comfortable so you are unlikely to fall asleep.

Think up a mantra that you are comfortable with, even just 'this is me time' and whenever thoughts become intrusive, repeat the mantra to yourself. Persist, little and often. It will become easier.

How about meditation tapes. Some of them are pretty naff but I've had a couple of really good ones loaned to me in the past and I can't remember who they were by. They were some of the best spent 30 minutes ever. I also became aquainted with two spirit guides.

Any tips on meditation tapes?

I Love lying in a lavender oil candlelit bath,with soothing mood music on...the one with rainfall, etc.. in the background

Sorry peeps, I was out last night.

I do have some stuff on cd that I use sometimes, rainfall and forest sounds do it for me but I have a wide selection of other stuff too.

If anyone wants copies I am happy to do them but you will need to send me blank cds as I am running out and skint

yeah ... OK - here's a question.

I have been told by a number of people that there are "angels" / "spirits" all around me...

and in all fairness I know that there is someone watching over me .... but I really want to know WHO it is ... how on earth do I find this out??

What are the signs again ??
I really want the white feather to be left for me .... but however much I ask I'm just not being listened to

I'm probably being too greedy in wanting the "proof"

Yep, stop asking. They will decide if or when they want to get in touch. Proof comes in many forms, it doesn't have to be a white feather

So many points so of view on that one.

Some people think they are guardian angels. Personally I think angels are something different.

To me my guides are the spirits of those who have passed over. 1 is a relative, others play different roles - guidance, counselling, even an artist who helps me when I do spiritual art. Basically they are people living on a different plane of existence that have taken it upon themselves to guide me through my live on this plane.

Crystal - again, everyone varies. I get a buzzing in my ear when someone is trying to connect with me. Or they come to me when I meditate.

Angels are androgynous, they aren't human and have never lived on earth. Spirit guides are as SG said, wiser people who are protecting you. Your gate/doorkeeper stops negative spirits/energies from bothering you. Angels can appear in male female form though to suit your problem. There are many differnt angels to suit different needs. I like Haniel, the angel of love

Hi Ulysees, why do you want to contact your spirit guides and gatekeeper? Other people have told me about my guides and helpers; mainly to do with healing as I used to practice spiritual healing. Now I only do absent healing.

Some times I have seen spirit although I havn't heard them talk to me. if you could contact your spirit guides or gatekeper what would you ask them?
