Can't burn candles in the house, we've a very inquisitive ginger tom who hasn't learnt not to stick his whiskers near fire sigh denser than a plank, but so handsome so we forgive him.
DH cooked on the BBQ, so we had our fire, and even tried his hand at apple sponge which was nice once smothered in custard
The baby's restless night put paid to any other, ahem, festivities

I had a handfasting to go to in the morning, and then in the evening toasted the season with a glass of English sparkling wine.
